Last updated: 22 June 2026

About these terms

By using the Lexia website or iOS app (together, "the service"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you don't agree, you should not use the service.

Lexia is operated by Manicgrin Media Ltd., based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", or "our").

Your account

To access most features you'll need to create a free account. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure and not sharing them with others
  • All activity that takes place under your account
  • Providing accurate information when you register

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that are used in breach of these terms.

Acceptable use

You may use Lexia to convert and read EPUB files that you own or have the right to use. You must not:

  • Upload or distribute content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • Use the service to upload or distribute unlawful, harmful, or offensive content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or abuse the service in ways not intended for ordinary use
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity

Content you upload

You retain ownership of any EPUB files you upload. By uploading content you confirm that you have the right to do so and that the content does not violate any third-party rights.

We process your EPUB files solely to create .lexia reading files for your personal use. Original EPUB files are deleted from our servers after processing. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

Our content

The Lexia platform, including its code, design, and any built-in books in the public library, is our property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it without our permission.

Books in the public library are either in the public domain or have been included with appropriate rights. If you believe any content infringes your rights, please contact us so we can investigate and act accordingly.

Availability

We aim to keep Lexia available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, updates, or other changes that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (which, given the service is currently free, is nil).

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
