Lexia ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Lexia mobile application.

Information you provide
- Books and reading content: Books you add to your library and any notes or bookmarks you create are stored locally on your device
- API keys: If you choose to add your own Anthropic API key, it is stored securely on your device and never transmitted to our servers
- Reading progress: Your reading position and progress through books are saved to your device and, if you're a subscriber, synced via Apple iCloud
Automatically collected information
- Device information: We may collect information about your device type and operating system version for app functionality and troubleshooting purposes
- Usage data: Basic analytics about how you use the app to help us improve the experience
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Lexia app functionality
- Sync your reading progress across your devices (if you're a subscriber using iCloud sync)
- Process books using AI when you provide your own API key
- Improve and optimise the app experience
- Provide customer support
Data storage and security
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you choose to enable iCloud sync (available to subscribers), your reading progress and library are synced via Apple's iCloud service, which is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Third-party services
Apple iCloud
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced through Apple's iCloud service. This is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Anthropic API
If you provide your own Anthropic API key, text from your books is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. This is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your API key or the content you process.
Children's privacy
Lexia is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Request data portability
Since most of your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the app or specific content within the app.
